Our mission with Mental Monarchs is to help people better understand the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions and inspire those who need it most to get help. 

Mental Monarchs started with two friends from Texas who found themselves sharing their personal stories as it relates to navigating the mental health space, one woman struggling to keep her struggle secret, Melia Salcines, made herself vulnerable when she voiced her experiences of struggling with depression and anxiety in front of an entire audience, winning the crown as Miss Rio Grande Valley! 

She partnered up with her good friend, Brooke Williamson to create an online mental health community where people can know they are not alone in their struggles. Brooke Williamson is a Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate working with couples and families in the Rio Grande Valley. You can find her at the Counseling Center of South Texas.
